Another day of goose hunting.

The guys were able to get 7 more geese this morning.
McKayla eyeing the geese that Justin and Jerry
were able to bring down. McKayla with one of the decoys.....almost as big as she is.
Makes for several good meals!!!!!!!!!

Sean and Justin with their harvest of the day

Sean, Justin and Jerry were hunting in the fog this weekend
and this is the end result. Neither the guys nor the geese
could see anything.....the goose lost the game.

The geese are here......

Jerry and Justin with their first hunting of the season.
It seems the geese like the barley and oats fields...they do
much damage if not harvested. They were able to get some geese before the mosquitoes
got them.
They got up at 5 AM to go sit out in the barley field........
not my idea of fun!!!!

Our gorgeous red sun last evening.

The wild fires in Canada seem to produce a red
sun for us. It was just amazing how red it was. Another shot of the red sun. Where else can you see such
pretty things then in ND??? We are blessed!!

My little friends came a-visiting

The cows were just south and west of our house
and there was an electric fence that kept them in...all except
the calves. They decided to explore and my driveway
was one of the spots to explore. They are cute but not on my lawn and in the flowers.
After 1 and 1/4 inch of rain in 30 minutes this is the end
result.

Everywhere there is water sitting around.
This is sandy soil so disappears quickly.

More of the same.

The forgotten little bird

Now that our snow is gone the birds are back.
There is one little bird that has been here all day just waiting for her spouse to show up.
Now you ask me....how do you know is it a "she". Well let me tell you... she sits one place and then flies to another and sits there. From there she flies to the bird bath and sits there, sometimes lands on the grass and sits there. She will maybe fly away for a few seconds and then is back again. Just waiting and waiting.

Now you know if this were a male bird, he would wait maybe 10 minutes at the most and then fly to the nearest watering hole and stay there thinking, "the hell with it".
